This year’s Ashton Independent Retail Awards have attracted a mix of new and established businesses where shoppers voted for their favourites. This year a new category was added to reflect Bar or Club to recognise the important contribution these businesses make.

Deputy Chair for Ashton Town Team, Bill Fairfoull said: “Thank you to all who took time to vote in this year’s awards. We had some amazing finalists, and it was so tough to select the winners.”

Chair of the Town Team, Val Unwin, who didn’t get directly involved in this year’s awards was surprised to win herself. “It was a huge surprise to win this year against popular businesses like Seraphina and New Shu. I know many have been entertained by my antics on social media which I also use to raise awareness of our fabulous independent businesses in the town.”

Ashton Independent Retail Awards was organised by Ashton Town Team and supported by the UK Government Pride in Place funding.
